smell ya later

i am trying really hard
to train the guy
who lives in the apartment above me

now that the weather has turned
he smokes inside
and the stink seeps down to my place

so every time he lights up
i light up
the incense

so everytime he smokes
his apartment gets all girly smelly

my hypothesis is that his subconscious
will smell the incense
as soon as he so much as thinks of lighting his cancer stick

i should start logging statistical results

the one variable i have not been able to confirm yet
is whether he's as smart
as a dog

falling back up again

unbelievable
summer is over
where did it go?

in my back pocket maybe

i wonder what life would be like
with zero constraints
no deadlines
only self imposed expectations
and mulligans
yeah
lots of those

i suppose it would be too easy
well
easy for those of us who thrive
on challenge
and have a strong penchant
for gusto

this little angel
made cottage weekend
a blast

and so did the smell of a fire
in an authentic log cabin

and so did the drive
through small northern towns
and open corn fields
and fields with horizontal horses

not showering for days
and running along dirt roads
roads travelled as a kid
to whispering pines campground with the rents
and sis
for summers

these are the best memories
