that i keep starting books
and not finishing them

a few months ago
i started in on Ann Rand's "Atlus Shrugged"
but got a hundred plus pages in
and
well
could not get in

wasn't gripping me like it should
and i loved fountainhead
one of my fav's
so i had high expectations

then a book connisseur (sp?)
friend of mine
told me not to waste any more of my precious time

so then i went to a used bookstore
this weekend
with dani and michelle
and we decided to all read "Catcher in the Rye"
at the same time
and then form a book club to discuss it
amongst ourselves
and we'd send each other discussion topics in advance
and even maybe invite JC
their brother
who is apparantly mr know everything about every good author to ever live

stress inducing

anyways
they all need to finish up current books
so last night i hit chapters
and bought this

which is being made into a movie
yuck
with anne hathaway
which i wish i did not know
going in
because now i will picture the heroine
as anne hathaway
and not some hot chick
that my imagination will create for itself
(another blog post worthy ;)

anyways
you will see that i have taken a sharp swirve
from timely classics
to paperback romance smut
to live vicariously through the
excitement, anticipation and lusts
of a new and enduring relationship

because
well

my love life sucks

is it just me or is there nothing new out there
musically speaking
it all sounds the same
and nothing seems like it will last
longer than 8 weeks
on some shitty
countdown

so a swift gust of wind blew my little arse
to burlington
a small town west of toronto
to hang my hat

i grew up out here
my family is here
and i guess there just comes a time
in a girl's life

when priorities change
and you just have to come back
home























i have reconnected with friends
i never realized how much i missed while living
in the city
friends that i want to be around
for a very very long time

and the part of me
that thrives off change
is as excited as a giddy school girl
who has her whole life ahead of her
